Random thoughts
I was thinking about my school life here in NZ and I thought of something that I thought was strange. I've struggled at school almost my life. Despite being a top tier student throughout primary I always had difficulty. This was probably due to the streaming system, which challenges the more apt students. However because of this, I was always one of the worst people in my classes, and I always felt inadequate and/or unintelligent. I also think this lead to me stopping to try at school, and is the reason I have done so poorly this year. Is streaming really such a good idea if it forces intelligent people to doubt themselves and unintelligent people to get an over the top sense of confidence?
I've noticed whenever gay men are brought up in a conversation, a storm of anal sex jokes come up. Is that really what society views gay men as? Anal beasts? Isn't homosexuality supposed to be about the love not the sex? And do all gay men even like anal? I dunno, maybe it's just because the people I hang out with are cringingly (is that a word?) immature and naive but it really struck me as strange. Is it that homophobia is actually people being afraid of gay love rather than being grossed out about gay sex? I guess so.

I guess it was only physical attraction, after all.... LOL
"Why?" you ask.
Because I have something over him. I don't feel so completely inferior to him anymore. He HAS flaws!
I may be socially deficient, totally annoying, insanely bitchy, digustingly shallow and horribly selfish BUT he smells repulsive and has really bad hair!

Sorry Daddy
Sunday, November 1, 2009
I'm scared.
What am I gonna do?
Why did I choose to leave the country, again?
Please, remind me.
Because right now, I'm thinking it could've been a mistake.
But that's natural.
Isn't it?
Please, tell me it's natural.
I'm freaking out.
I know what Alisha means now.
Safe.
It's safe here.
I'm safe.
Nothing is wrong.
Everything is chill.
Why am I risking it?
For a chance for it to be better?
Better than this?
What's the point?
What's wrong with this?
A lot.
Yes.
A lot.
But nothing dire.
And why am I burning bridges?
I guess it doesn't matter.
I'm never coming back.
Four more weeks of this life.
And then everything is totally new.
I'm scared.

How do you do an angry smiley?
So, with an extreme over-confidence in my overwhelmingly easy and relaxed family life, I left that battle of bourbon sitting out on my bedside table, just chilling. For a few days, Dave just looked at it and didn't do anything, he didn't seem to care. I come home today, and it's gone. Where did it go? Dave comes home, and I ask him. He tells me it's in the cupboard. I ask him why. He tells me he doesn't want me to have it. He then gives a speech about how I shouldn't be keeping alcohol here, let alone spirits.
Okay, I get it, he's concerned. But it pisses me off. Why do parents have to be concerned? Nothing wrong is going to happen. Can't they learn to trust their kids just a bit?
And yes, I know, it's pretty much my fault for being over-confident and assuming Dave would be as chill about everything as Mum was pretty stupid of me.
But the point is, that's MY bourbon. And I WANT it!

Life and Survivor
I think Survivor can also be applied to scenarios in life.
Are you more popular than someone else in your circle of friends? Think of you as the final 2, and everyone else as the jurors. Who wins? I think it's interesting to sit down with some names and figure out who could beat who in a jury vote of their friends. Sometimes it's not as simple as A > B > C > D > E > F. Someone might be able to beat someone else, but that lose to someone that the person they could beat could win against. Get it?
I also think friendships, alliances and rivalries are interesting. Friendships are formed with people that you mutually enjoy being with. Common ground, or similar beings are not necessary for a friendship. All you need in a friend is for them to be funny, or nice, or smart. Alliances are different, though. Alliances are created between people with a lot of common ground (same gender, same age, same background, same interests) but not between similar people. On the other hand, rivalries are created between very similar being. They rival each other in competition for the same role in a tribe.
Tribes are like classes. You might not like everyone in your class, and you may not have anything in common with them. But you're still always with them, and you're still fighting for the same thing.
I think it's easier to see dominance in a relationship if you look at it through Survivor than through real life. Could A convince B to vote for C instead of voting for D who E wants them to vote for? If so, they are most likely dominant in that relationship.
That's all for now. I just thought it was interesting.

Blindingly Obvious
The hot Asian ex-girlfriend. Yeah, she's hot. But she was a distraction.
The ex-best friend who I thought I might have had secret feelings for. No secret feelings, just a distraction.
The I-Called-It-Fucking-Ages-Ago long time friend that I've been thinking about a lot lately. Another distraction.
The sexy mama who I was gonna tap but then she went all Christian. Nothing real there, just a distraction.
The foreign girl that nobody understands who has a nice body. I thought there might be something there, but it's just like a platonic love, I think. Distraction.
All of these were hiding what should have been blindingly obvious.

She wants to get back together.
I've grown up a lot.
She's grown up a lot.
We'd be a lot better together.
Too bad there's only 70 days left.

Guess who's back?
- OMG, I know I still haven't written about Grey's and B&S but I honestly can't be fucked. I WILL do it eventually but for now, I'll just say a few things.
- Grey's was alright. I'm starting to wonder where this show is going because.... Well it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
- Brothers and Sisters sucks. I'm probably not coming back for season 4.
- However, speaking of TV shows, let's talk about some good ones, eh? Remember True Blood? Yeah, that was awesome. Next Wednesday the last two eppies of season 1 are airing again and then OMG season 2 is airing. IMA SO EXCITED! TRUE BLOOD FUCKING RULES!
- Video games? I've played a lot of them. I have completed Lost Odyssey and Grandia 2 and am right at the end of both FFVIII and FFIX so if I were you (which I am) I'd be getting ready for another video game blog very soon. Or maybe I'll wait to finish Grandia, Tales of P and......
- TALES OF VESPERIA! Yes, it's actually out now. Has been for a fair while. But I haven't got it yet :( Don't ask me why because the only answer I've got for you is "I don't have enough money" and don't ask me what happened to the $110 I put aside for it becuase the only answer I have for you is "I dunno". But who cares! I've nearly got the money and next weekend I'm (with some luck) going to play the tight little ass off of that game. I've been waiting so long, I'm so excited :D
- Jed and Simon are coming over later today. We're gonna play some X-Men. And get fucking drunk :P
- No crushes, no likes, nothing.
- School sucks. Lots. I can't fucking stand it. Class sucks, lunch sucks. Everything sucks. ARG! Oh well. Not much longer.
- Survivor Samoa starts soon. Goood.
- I've been planning out my blogging system for next year. It's gonna be hot.

Blah blah blah blah blah (= Random crap time)
Man, a couple of days ago, I thought lots of hot shit was about to happen and like now nothing is going to happen. Life is such a tease :(
Said goodbye to Melissa. It was... Strange.
Survivor Season 20 = All Winners Season??? OMFG! AWES- Oh, wait... Heroes VS Villains? Okay, that's still kinda cool but not nearly as cool as an All Winners Season. I guess they just couldn't get people back what with Richard Hatch in prison and at least Parvati Shallow stating she would never go back. Oh well...
I spoke to Lotus today. Finally :)

Back to school
Gotta go. Guess I'll have to settle for an incomplete blog.
Saturday, July 18, 2009
Oh hey (In teh Ashleigh voice)
Okay, sorry. I'll stop.
- Ima not gonna do a video game blog. Why? Because I've been slack and if I did it the only game I've actually finished is Lost Odyssey. I've been right at the end of Grandia II for nearly a week now but I've been too busy or too lazy to do the last few hours. Also, I haven't got any further in FFVII which means I haven't started FFVIII. Star Ocean 4 sucks so bad that I can't bring myself to play it. Tales of Vesperia got delayed AGAIN so I still haven't got it. Haven't played Tales of Phantasia in a long time. Well yeah, you get the point. I did however finish Eternal Sonata again. Cos it rulezorz. So I'll post a vg blog eventually. Just not now.
- I'm leaving at the end of November. After my final exam (Media Studies) on the 26th and so I can get there in time for my mum's birthday on the 30th. I'm thinking 27th so that way I don't have to have a goodbye party.
- Speaking of goodbye parties, we all said farewell to Melissa on Friday :( It was sad. Jed and Simon were coming over to my house afterwards so when Melissa and I actually said goodbye it was less teary than it probably would've been if we were alone. I'm not really sure if that's a good or a bad thing. I've GOT to come back some time at the end of next year because I absolutely have to see her again. I don't want this to be goodbye forever :(
- I uh think I've got feelings for someone. And I think just MAYBE they have feelings too. But probably not. Which is nice because it has been a fair while. But it's also a bit of a slap in the face considering nothing can really happen because I'm out of here in a few months.
- I'm supposed to be looking at schools. But it's really hard. They all sound like smart and fancy and I don't want that. I'm not saying I want everyone to be angry morons. I want... Cashmere. All I need to do is find the Perth version of Cashmere. I thought it would be easy. But it's actually real hard.
- I think Perth is going to be really nice. I'm really looking forward to it. Even if I'm going to be sweating lots and probably have to wear shorts most days.
- Where the fuck does one get condoms from???
- It's nearly the end of July which means that Grey's Anatomy and Brothers and Sisters must be coming to a close fairly soon. Both are pretty good right now (although I absolutely HATE that new guy in Brothers in Sisters. And yes, I know that I wrote an entire blog about how awesome he was. But he's not) so I just hope they don't ruin it in the last few eppies. Although Alex (the brother type one) told me some of what happened in Grey's Anatomy. The bastard.

DS Games
Magical Starsign (Nintendo DS): This is a decent game. The story was poor and characters were only slightly better than bearable but the way the game was presented was very fun. There aren't many RPGs on the DS, let alone good ones so Magical Starsign definately shines a little more because of that. At the beginning of the game you can choose your element (light or dark) and your gender (male or female). Gender doesn't affect anything except for I think one scene in the game and element doesn't affect too much as personally I don't think either were particularly useful. Dark had a better mid game but light had a better late game so it's really up to you. There are 5 other characters in this game all with their own personality and element. Lassi (Wind) is a cute little bunny girl who is rather scatter-brained but fun. Mokka (Earth) is a robot who may or may not have emotions, I was never really sure. Chai (Wood) was a green lizard guy. He was... Shy? TBH, there wasn't really much to him. Pico (Fire) was the "Ima so cool" hot-headed tough-guy. He was alright, but nothing amazing. The last character was Sorbet (Water). Sorbet gets a lot of hate but personally I thought she was the best character in the game. She may have been irrational at times but she had more personality to her than the others. Too bad she sucked in battle. Seriously, what were the makers of this game thinking when they gave the tanks awesome magic power and powerful spells? And opposite to that, they gave the girls with low HP and high MP shitty magic spells? Oh well. It's not like this game was too hard. Especially when abusing spellstrike and that thing that changes the planet's locations. The story in this game didn't really exist. For the whole 20-30 hours it was just "Oh noes our teacher has gone missing let's go save her. Whoops, we got caught up with Mr Generic Villain!" However the game didn't take itself too seriously so it's bland storyline never really felt like a negative, just not a positive. Everything in this game was named after some kind of food and everything about it was just so... Weird. Spiny mole kingdom? Village of teapots? Some stick? Yeah, I think you get it.
[5/10]
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (Nintendo DS): *throws up* I can't believe I'm even here wasting my time writing about this game. Remember FFXII? Remember how it was kind of average? Remember Vaan and Penelo? Remember how they pretty much sucked? Yeah, well wouldn't it be awesome to create a sequel about them for the DS? NO! NO! NO! Seriously, WTF was Square Enix smoking when they created this game? Did they just feel guilty for not developing the supposed main characters of the original so they thought they'd do it in a sequel? Okay, then why was it crap? And why for the frickin' DS!? Everything about this game was just so... Stupid. Maybe childish is a better word. Either way, it all sucked. Let's look at the characters. Vaan sucked. Penelo sucked. Kytes sucked. Filo sucked. Llyud sucked. Balthier, Fran, Ashe and Basch returned but oh noes, they sucked. Seriously, how could you but awesome characters like Balthier and Ashe in a game and reject them so much that they were shit? And WTF was up with the shitty battle system? Nobody could tell WHAT was going on. And also, graphics? Well let's just say they weren't very good. That's all.
[2/10]
Final Fantasy III (Nintendo DS): "A remake for Final Fantasy III? AWESOME! IMA TOTALLY BUYING THATZ!" *buys it, plays it for 2 hours* "Oh yeah..." *puts the game down* "I remember now, Final Fantasy III sucked"
And it still does.
[2/10]
Final Fantasy IV (Nintendo DS): Mehh... This game wasn't bad. Nor was it good. It was simply average. In every possible way. The characters weren't annoying, however they weren't interesting. The story wasn't boring, however it wasn't engaging. The dialogue was pretty good. The music was alright, not up to par with other FFs. The graphics were alright - for a DS game. Voice acting is a plus. But... Mehh... Unless you're a hardcore RPG or FF fan than it's probably better to pass on this game. It just doesn't really have... Substance.
[4/10]
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 2: Grimoire of the Rift (Nintendo DS): This game was fun at the beginning, but quickly got boring. The battle system was slow and repetitive. After a couple of battles, you had pretty much done them all. It takes far too long to learn new skills, especially considering the rate in which you can by new weapons to teach you new skills. The character were really boring. The main character was a young boy named Luso with an adventurous spirit. How thrilling. I really didn't feel for him nor did I care for his reasoning for wanting to go on this huge dangerous journey. Cid was an older mysterious strong but nice man (or whatever the fuck those cat things are). OMG HAO KEWL!!! And there's Adelle. Adelle is a thief girl who is an enemy the first time you meet her and then goes "Ohai, can I come too?" and then tags along for no reason. And all the other characters are generic peeps who join your team but never do anything storyline-wise. So yeah, characters in this game kinda fail. Storyline was also kinda fail. Pretty much the same as the previous FFTA but worse and less interesting because it was just a recycled story. The graphics pretty much sucked. Only slight graphical upgrades from the GBA game and this is a FRICKIN' DS GAME!
[3/10]
Pokemon Diamond (Nintendo DS): Pokemon Diamond is Pokemon Diamond. Need I say more? Okay, I will. Awesome. Amazing. Still not enough? Okay.
Pokemon Diamond stays true to its roots. DP remains very similar to the RB, GS and RS games. And the recently released Platinum is the third wheeler in this set. There is a definite graphical improvement from the 3rd gen Pokemon games however the graphics still aren't spectacular or anything. The three starter Pokemon keep the traditional elements of Grass, Fire and Water. However they each get another element once they've fully evolved. Although this is nice and makes starters much more useful than when they were single elemental, the elements they chose make it really easy to break the Grass > Fire > Water > Grass triangle. The Grass guy gets Ground moves to own the Fire guy. The fire guy gets Fighting moves to own the Water/Metal guy. And if you teach the water guy Ice moves he is 4x effective against the Grass/Ground guy. But oh well. It's not like Pokemon games are hard anyways. But we'll get to that later. The worst thing about the three starts is like the RSE guys, none of them are really that good. Okay battle-wise, they're all pretty decent but they just look... Bad. Torterra (Grass) is definitely my favourite but most of that is purely because Infernape (Fire) and to a lesser extent Empoleon (Water) both look shitty. And WTF was up with Piplup fam's moveset? They don't learn ANYTHING good except for sort of Bubblebeam at like 25ish and then finally Hydro Pump at like 50-60. Also, WHY was Torterra's ultimate move Special rather than Physical? Ugh... However speaking of that, the Special/Physical split was GREAT. It was always something that needed to be done and it did wonders for some Pokes, although it hurt some others but meh. Now, the difficulty level in this game was disappointing. I think the 3rd Gym Leader and the Champion were the only people in the game I struggled on my first time through and even then, I didn't actually lose to either of them. This has always been a problem in Pokemon games, however. Also, I felt that the game was too long. And not because there was a lot to do or anything. But because everything takes forever. Battles for instance, can take far longer than they should. Also things like surfing speed, using HMs and waiting for trainers to move and stuff drag the game out. However, even with these minor irritations Pokemon Diamond remains a very fun game and a worthy entry to the Pokemon Series.
[7/10]
Game reviewers
1) "For fuck's sake, -insert main character's name here- is your typical cliche angsty/moody emo guy". Okay, there are two things wrong with this. First of all, the characters they are reffering to are NOT angsty/moody emo guys. Just because a character isn't super happy doesn't mean they're depressed. A character can be quiet, or shy, or reserved without being angsty or moody, right? Kaim from Lost Odyssey is NOT emo, Cloud from Final Fantasy VII is NOT emo (Advent Children not included). The other problem with people saying this is that the angsty/moody emo guy is hardly cliche. In video games, at least. Let's name all the angsty/moody emo main guys in a JRPG. Okay, Squall from Final Fantasy VIII and... Um... Well....... You see my point?
2) "WTF!!! In this game you can't jump or swing your sword outside of battle" or "WTF!!! In this game there's like a plot and stuff and plots take away from the game" or "WTF!!! There's romance in this game. I'm not a girl, okay? I don't want romance. Eww!" or "WTF!!! The battle system in this game is weird! It's like turn-based and weird and junk". Okay, all I have to say to these kind of people, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU PLAYING AN RPG IF YOU DON'T LIKE RPG-ELEMENTS! GO HOME!!!!
3) "This game is so dumb. The characters get hit with fireballs and swords and they still live. LOLWTF?". *sigh* It's a video game. It's also a fantasy. Fuck off.
4) "Most of the characters in this game were awful. Like the -insert character with internal conflict and more character development than anyone else in the game-. She sucked, eh? Oh, but there was one good character. -Insert comic relief character who is rarely actually funny and usually ends up ruining the mood- was awesome, he was definately the best character in the game. Come on people, didn't we learn our lesson from Xander???

Bad things
And every shadow filled up with doubt
I don't know who you think you are
But before the night is through
I want to do bad things with you
I'm the kind to sit up in his room
Heart-sick and eyes filled up with blue
I don't know what you've done to me
But I know this much is true
I want to do bad things with you
Okay
When you came in, the air went out
And all those shadows there, filled up with doubt
I don't know who you think you are
But before the night is through
I want to do bad things with you
I want to do real bad things with you
I don't know what you've done to me
But I know this much is true
I want to do bad things with you
I want to do real bad things with you

Got my internetz back
True Blood finale: Awesome. Fucking awesome. I want more :( While watching it I was disappointed about how obv the killer-thing was however after mulling it over with my mum and with some help from the internetz we realized that it was already revealed to be Rene at the end of last episode but we were both dumb and didn't notice. OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! I can't believe they killed off Lafayette :( He was sooo awesome! Anyway, good show, looking forward to season two.
Star Ocean 4: Alright. Storyline is decent but a muddled. Gameplay roxxorz. Characters... Fail. Hard. Reimi is pretty cool. Bacchus and Faize are bland. Meracle is cool sometimes and shit other times. Edge and Lymle... Well... I don't even know. Lymle serves a good role and seems like a good character but her monotone voice, her "kay" thing, her dumbshitness in battle and her insistence on acting like a 4 year old when she's 15 drives me insane. And Edge may just be the worst lead character ever. Although he is pretty dece sometimes, he also has a stupid monotone voice so whenever he does serious scenes they just turn out lulzy. But mainly, he's just dumb and annoying. WHY can't JRPGs have good leads???
Everything else: Av. Something liek needs to happen soooon. I'm getting bored.

I'm so damn hot for 9:30
I had that stupid thing on Sunday night. You know, that stupid choking thing where I'm not actually choking? Yeah, that thing. Fuck, I hate that thing. And it always seems to happen with rice. Shit. It's so annoying. How am I ever gonna live by myself if I can't even eat RICE without fucking everything up?
Shit, my dad is a creep. Speaking of creeps, so is Stella/Stellar/Whatevs. She's fucking fucked up.
Anyway, True Blood is calling. So, bye!

Liek Moar Bullet Points Nao Plz
- The internetz wins. In just a couple of minutes I managed to download Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Silver, Pokemon Crystal, Pokemon FireRed, Pokemon LeafGreen, Breath of Fire, Breath of Fire II, Lufia IV: Ruins of Lore, Sheep, Final Fantasy IV Advance, Final Fantasy V Advance, Final Fantasy VI Advance (OMG!!!), Tales of Phantasia (OMG!!!) and some shitty Power Ranger games for the GB/GBC/GBA. Later I'll get some other goodies for the SNES.
- School is still boring. Maths is alright. English rules. Biology is funny. Art History is meh. Media is scary. Drama sucks.
- I was happy with the outcome of Tocantins. JT definately deserved it. I just shouldn't have changed my guess from JT to Taj. HOWEVER if Erinn had won that last challenge (which she was damn close to) then it may have gone the way I predicted. Or maybe it would've gone in a completely different direction. Who knows? Anyway, I'm looking forward to Samoa.
- Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters and True Blood all rule. I've pretty much forgotten to watch every single episode of Ugly Betty this season because it is on at a stupid time.
- Formal's coming up. Everyone's talking about it like all the time. W00t!
- Melissa is leaving soon :(
- Sadie's Gaming Infection rules.
- Playing through Diamond again. Also want to try and finish Revenant Wings, FFIV, Magical Starsign and Tactics Advance 2. Hoping to get Platinum and Chrono soon.
- Looking forward to HG and SS. They're gonna be awesome.
Okay, that's pretty much it. I didn't actually have that much to say but meh.

TRUE FUCKING BLOOD
Last 2 episodes were kinda meh. But tonight's episode was fucking excellent.
Fuck, I actually don't know what to say because whenever I think about this show all I want to do is make lots of sex noises. Fuuuuuuuuuucckkk...
Okay. Um. God dammit, I don't know what to say.
These characters are so good. SO GOOD. All of them (except for Bill) are just amazing. I'm completely inlove with them. Sookie = Win. Tara = Win. Lafiet = Win. Jason = Win. Sam = Win. EVERYBODY = Win. Bill = Epic. Fucking. Fail.
The murder storyline is brill. Brill-I-Ant. I love it. For the first 3 or summat episode I thought it was Sam. Then I wasn't sure. Recently I started thinking it was Terry (I don't actually know his name so I'm just calling him Terry). And then after tonight's episode it pretty much has to be Terry or Rene. The preview for next week (which is the season finale, WTF???) makes it look like Rene. Like REALLY makes it look like Rene. Which would definately be viable but... They wouldn't give that away in the preview, would they? So it's probably a big old red-herring and it'll be Terry. Or somebody nobody's thought of yet. I don't really care. I already know it's going to be fucking awesome.

It's your fault for running holding diamonds
"It's your fault for running holding diamonds"
This quote from Anna Nalick's In the Rough is just one of the many reasons I like that song. Although it sounds a bit strange, it is very true. If you're gonna be stupid and do something, be prepared to suffer the consequences. I'm making an effort to think along these lines. Instead of kicking myself and going "Why didn't THIS happen to me???" I'm going to start kicking myself and going "Why didn't I do something to make this happen???". I think it is a much better way to think about things. It makes me feel more independant and in control. If I don't want to fall holding diamonds, all I have to do is walk slowly :)

Survivor Tocantins Finale: Live Thoughts
Okay, here we go. Shit! Where's part 1??? Meh. Let's just start with part 2, part 1 will just be them all going "OMG! I LIEK CAN'T BELEEVE IMA FINALLY HERE!"
Alright, here we go.
Okay, an immunity challenge. Looks like the one at the Final 5 of Cook Islands which Oz dominated. JT has bag 1. Looks like he's gonna win. Erinn, Stephen, Taj back with bag 1. JT back with bag 2. They only need 3 bags??? Isn't that way too easy? Stephen, Erinn and Taj with bag 2. JT back with bag 3. He's working on the puzzle. "It's a difficult puzzle" says Jeff. Doesn't look that difficult TBH. Stephen's working on the puzzle. Taj and Erinn working on the puzzle. Doesn't matter ladies, looks like JT is gonna win. That blows my theory about JT going home... JT is very close. Erinn is making up a lot of ground. AAH! This is intense. JT WINS IMMUNITY! SHIIIIIT! I was SO hoping Erinn would win that. Oh well :( Looks like that blows my new theory. I still don't think Erinn will be going home. Dunno why but I just imagine her as the 7th member of the jury...
Every congratzes JT. Taj says we're getting rid of Erinn because Jalapao is sticking together. Taj says Erinn has no chance of staying. Erinn tries to get the boys to get Taj, claiming she played a great social game and that they'll all vote for her in the end. Probably true. But then that applies to JT, too. They're all playing up that they don't know what they're doing. Don't fuck with us, it's probably Erinn. I hope not, I love her. If the girls had any brain (which they've proved about 3452390 times that they don't) they would come up with some sorta plan to either force a tie or get rid of Stephen. This is what I would do --> Taj and Erinn tell Stephen and JT that they want to force a tie between themselves. They get Stephen to vote Erinn and JT to vote Taj. Then they vote together to get rid of Stephen. Stephen goes home. Taj and Erinn guarantee themselves in the final 3. But, unfortunately Stephen and JT are the only 2 people in this season who have any kind of REAL strategic ability and Taj and Erinn would not think of that. Off we go to Tribal Council.
"We now bring in the members of the jury. Brendan, Tyson, Sierra, Debbie and Coach voted out at the last tribal council". Jeff asks about all the 3 Jalapaos overpowering the 6 Timbira. Something we're all still confused about. Jeff asks some more questions involving Erinn and her bonds with the Timbira jury. What bonds??? Stephen talks about his vote. Sounds like he's voting for Taj. Weird. JT sounds like he's voting Erinn. Maybe there's gonna be a tie. Who would win that? Taj looks worried. Okay, it's voting time. Erinn votes Taj. Duh. Stephen votes. Taj votes Erinn. Duh. JT votes. Oooh, I'm excited :)
Jeff is reading the votes (Taj looks like she's about to cry); Taj. Erinn. Taj (Oh my God!!!!!!). Taj. Whoah, I didn't see that coming :S. Erinn calmy fixes her glasses. Lol. I love her. Taj says she'll vote for Erinn if she's in the final 2. YAY! I hope she does find a way.
"Liek OMG we're in the final 3" they go. :O:O:O JT says that Erinn is the most annoying person in the world. What does that make Sierra? JT doesn't appear to be as nice as he acts. Stephen complains about Erinn too. Erinn STFU! You're screwing yourself over, hon. The next morning Erinn says how both Stephen and JT want to take her. JT says how he wants to take Stephen, Stephen says he doesn't know, Erinn says she's 100% taking Stephen. Of course. JT isn't shutting up about trust and shit. He sounds like Coach.
W00t @ the Rites of Passages. Not. Fuck, this thing is lame. I DON'T CARE! I just want to watch Erinn and Stephen get owned in the final challenge. This thing is stupid. Watching people cry over people they don't care about FTL. Carolina cries about being first out. Candace bitches about Coach. I sorta liked her. She was funny. Erinn says she wants Jerry to be her dad. Meh, I didn't really care about him. Sandy. LOLOLOLOL. "She definately provided me with one of the more humbling times of my life" says Erinn referring to the time Sandy pulled on her bra and rode her like a donkey. Spencer goes on about how he was soooo young. I really don't think age has anything to do with show. This is what JT says about Sydney, "That was the first HARD vote we had to make". Hahaha! Shame Carolina, Sandy and Spencer. Joe. Meh. Boring. Whatevs. Brendan says that Survivor is a lot harder than it looks. I never buy this when people say it. I mean the physical side is OBVIOUSLY really hard but they always get their ass kicked by the strategic side and I can't believe that the strategy part of this game is hard. I mean, just look at Todd and Parvati and Yul who just go into the game, use a bit of strategy and win. Oh well. Maybe there's something I'm missing. Everyone says how Tyson was nice and sincere (what???) and then he compliments himself a LOT. I loved him. He was funny :). They obviously have nothing to say about Sierra, it must be a bit awkward when that happens. Erinn says that Debbie was the person she was closest too. Which is strange because in an interview Deb says she never really connected with Erinn. That must mean Erinn just hated everyone else like.... COACH. I don't even know what to say about this fellow. JT says he has a lot of respect for Coach which I don't get. I don't respect anything about him, TBH. And here he goes again, talking about greek tragedies. They cry about voting out Taj. Which, BTW I don't really get WHY they did that but whatevs.
Here we are at the final immunity challenge. Probably some endurance thing. No. Something else that is weird. Sounds interesting. It could be cool. And may give Stephen and Erinn a better chance then I thought. Still, I predict a JT win. Oh, something stupid/strage/interesting to note is that when they have the demonstration of the challenge it almost always (as in 97%) shows the winner. See, in the demonstration we saw the Red person doing it. JT is red. So I'm even more confident he's gonna win now. Aaaaand here we go. This challenge is wack. But exciting. It doesn't look that hard though. Of course, I'm not gonna try it in fear of sucking. And because I don't own a huge metal spiral thing. Erinn is out :(. All Erinn can do now is watch and hope. I'm hoping for you too, gal. I love you! Although to be fair, you don't really deserve to win as much as the other two. But who cares because you're awesome. Four balls now. This challenge is starting to look a bit harder. Stephen drops a ball. JT WINS FINAL IMMUNITY! What does that mean? Pretty much that Erinn is gone and that JT is hands down gonna win.
Stephen goes on about how he's happy he didn't win so that he didn't make the hard decision. So he pretty much is happy that he's gonna lose. Erinn says JT taking Stephen would be noble, but much harder. I'm not sure actually. I know I said before that Erinn has no chance in the final 2, but now I don't know. She may do better off than I thought. JT says that Stephen better be scared. Weird.
Okay. Tribal council time. I predict.... Erinn goes home and is the final member of the jury. TAJ!!! She was a honey. Stephen pretty much threatens JT saying that they won't be friends if JT votes him off. Jeff asks whether you take the person you've been loyal to or the person you'll win against. Easy. THE PERSON YOU'LL WIN AGAINST. JT, you didn't come out here to make super loyal BFF pals. You've got them back at home. You came here to win lotsa money. Which you don't have at home. Stephen does more stupid blackmailing and friendship crap. That's stupid. I don't like Stephen anymore.
Voting time. JT votes. Jeff reads the vote. 14th person voted out and the 7th and final member of the jury = Erinn. Nuuuuuuu! JT! WHAT THE HELL!? STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! What was the point in voting out Taj and stuff if you're gonna take Stephen with you? I mean, to be fair you're probably gonna win either way but come on! Erinn says she was a lil surprised but deep-down she knew that JT was gonna do that.
Day 39. JT talks about how everything is wonderful and just how they imagined. Stephen talks about how he's so pleased to be in the final 2 with JT. Blah blah blah. "We dominated the entire game. Physically and socially" Umm... What? I'll admit you dominated STRATEGICALLY. But physically? Socially? You did well but you didn't DOMINATE.
Now I am a bit disappointed that JT and Stephen are the final 2. I never really like either of them. They're both a bit bland and kinda annoying. Also, I think JT is quite fake. And Stephen played the friendship card. He was gonna take you either way, you didn't have to ruin yourself like that. I hate it when they scramble and play the BFFL card. Remember Parvati? She KNEW that Amanda was gonna take her to the end and she didn't be stupid and cry about how they're such good friends and she haaaaas to take her. Sorry, I just had to throw a bit of Parvati-fanboyism in there.
"I don't know which way the jury will vote" says Stephen. I do! They're gonna vote for JT.
Jury members. Again. Stephen says that it is hard to talk bad about JT. The jury didn't seem to like that. Stephen says "I'm not a physical person. Or a farmer. Or blah blah blah. But I'm smart" and JT says "I'm not a yale graduate or anything. But I'm strong and loyal". Debbie seems to approve of Stephen's speech, and not JT's.
Question time. Yay! I love this part. Brendan starts. Congratz, yeah, yeah. Brendan bitches at Stephen saying how "growing" doesn't win anything. JT agrees. "Just because you can't catch a ball when you come in and have learnt to catch a ball by the end doesn't make you better than the person who already knew how". Absolutely JT. Stephen and JT are getting into a big fight. Weird. These two are a lot harsher towards each other already than other finalist. Erinn's up. She says to Stephen "I've seen you part of 3 very different alliances. Jalapao alliance, Exile alliance, Warrior alliance. And they're all on the jury. So should I just vote for JT?". I'm not exactly sure what she's asking there. Stephen says that she should vote for his aggressive style of play. What? JT has the aggressive play, Stephen. You're in the shadows, remember? Keep to your story. Erinn asks something boring and random to JT, he answers. Debbie is next. She hasn't decided her vote. She talks about honesty and how she wasn't very impressed with JT suddenly turning traitorous. He gives a half-assed answer. She asks Stephen what he would have done if he has won the final immunity. I pray to God he says he would've taken Erinn. He says "I don't know" and Deb gets mad and says she wants a clear answer. Stephen says he would've taken Erinn. Coach is up. Ewww. Ewww. EWWW!!! I'm not even gonna talk about him because it's too hard to form words. I will say this JT did well, Stephen's answer was good too but probably not too good for Coach. Sierra is up. She has no question for Stephen. She asks "How can you talk taking strong people and take Erinn and Stephen to the final 3?" I'm glad somebody asked this. It's true. You can't be all "I'm trying to beat all the strong people!" when you've voted out Brendan, Tyson and Debbie because they're too strong. He doesn't do very well answering. Tyson asks if Stephen was an asset to JT. JT says he could've done it without him but it wouldn't have been as easy. Stephen plays up more friendship shit. Ugh. JT and Stephen fight a little more. Taj is finishing up. She says she feels crushed, betrayed and disappointed. She says it was unnecessary. Which is true. She asks whether it was hard to vote her out. And then JT says it was definately hard and then - wait for it - but not quite as hard as voting out Erinn. WTF JT!? Taj then says she doesn't recognize Stephen and WTF did he vote her out. He then backstaps JT and says that JT wanted to do it and he did not but he had to go with JT. I don't remember quite right, but I'm pretty sure it was the other way around. JT and Erinn don't look pleased. JT defends himself. These two are amazing! I'm glad they're not fluffing each other. Stephen throws JT under the bus again. JT defends. OMG! This is awesome!!! Deb looks amazed. Sorta looking like Eliza. JT says "I should've brought Erinn. You made me look like a fool". Yeah, boy. Don't worry hon, you're gonna win. It's almost time to vote but first we get a little shot of Stephen feeling up JT.
Alright final vote. Stephen pretty much sucked in that tribal council. And JT did pretty well except for a few questions. I'm pretty much sure JT is gonna win. I think the jury will vote like this.
Brendan: JT
Tyson: JT
Sierra: Stephen
Debbie: Stephen
Coach: JT
Taj: JT
Erinn: JT
I'm not entirely sure about Taj and Erinn but we'll see, I suppose. We're voting for a WINNER. Here we go! (I'm excited). Brendan votes. Debbie votes. Sierra votes. Taj votes "I am a woman of my word. You should try and be a man the same way" <--- Who is that? Tyson votes. Coach votes The W..... Lulz. Erinn (I <3 her. She looks so pretty) votes. Wow. We didn't see any of the votes. That leads me to believe that it is a unanimous vote. Probably 7-0 to JT. And Jeff is off to New York City!
And then here we are in New York City. Everyone looks fancy and nice. JT looks better though. Even if he is wearing green. Ugh, green. Jeff is all excited. He talks about the game a lot. Why??? If we're watching the show we KNOW the game. It takes to four to win. Yeah, yeah. He's reading the votes.
JT
The Warrior (JT)
JT
The winner of Survivor Tocantins = JT!!!
Wow. A 7-0 vote. Thank God. Stephen didn't deserve shit. JT was much better. Alright, time for the reunion. I love the reunion!

Survivor Tocantins Pre-Finale Thoughts
Now I know that's a strange thing to say considering the last few weeks I've been 95% sure that JT was going to win but I thought it can't seriously go Erinn --> Taj --> Stephen --> JT, can it? That'd be far too predictable. And then I watched an interview with Jeff Probst and he revealed that there was going to be a betrayal. And that pretty much has to mean Stephen or JT (or maybe Taj) gets blindsided by their fellow Jalapao friends and I think it'll most likely be JT because Stephen and Taj must know that they'll lose to him, right? That moves Erinn up to final 3 with Taj and Stephen. Erinn won't win final immunity because she's Erinn, Stephen or Taj will win it and vote her out. Now, at first I thought that Stephen would win against Taj in the final 2 but then watching repeats of Survivor Micronesia: Fans VS Favourites I just had this strong feeling, like I just KNEW that Taj was gonna win like when I just KNEW that Todd was going to win China, that Parvati was going to win Micronesia and Bob was going to win Gabon. Now, I could still be wrong of course, but my new to pick is Taj. NOT JT! Which surprises even myself. Where would she get her votes from? Well the jury would be...
Brendan: He would vote for Taj because those two were so tight
Tyson: I think he would vote for Stephen because of the "Warrior" alliance
Sierra: She'd probably go with Taj too. Those two seemed reasonably close and she didn't vote against her as promised.
Debbie: Not sure on her. I think she would go for the person who played most strategically which may be Stephen or Taj.
Coach: I think he may vote for Taj because Stephen betrayed him.
JT: Again, I'm not sure. He was close with both of them, probably closer to Stephen. However he may be pissed that they voted him out.
Erinn: She and Taj seem really friendly. I think they're both quite similar people. She'd vote for Taj.
I suppose that would make it a 5-2 vote to Taj (Assuming Debbie goes with Taj and JT goes with Stephen, but iuno). But we'll see this Sunday (but actually Monday or Tuesday, for people who have to watch it online like me) when the finale airs. I'm going to do a live recap as I watch it just for the lulz.
Oh, and this is by no means what I WANT to happen, just what I think will happen. Which is a very sudden change as about 8 hours ago I was SURE JT was going to win. Now, I do hope that Stephen and JT aren't the final 2 because booooring but I would LOVE to see Erinn win. But that's not going to happen. I don't think she can get to the end and even if she did I can't see her getting any jury votes (Maybe Brendan? Taj? Who else?).
But anyway, TAJ IS GOING TO WIN SURVIVOR TOCANTINS.

Pokemon Red
Pokemon Red Version: Red was the orignial Pokemon game on the GB along with Pokemon Green (or Blue). Although it's old it's still a lot of fun to play. Graphically, it sucks a lot of ass. Musically, it makes your ears bleed. BUT, graphix and musix are not the main selling points of these games. Pokemon games are so popular for their gameplay. I don't know WHY catching horribly ugly monsters and making them fight in boringly simple battles while listening to awful music and sound effects is enjoyable, but it is. Probably due to some weird nostaligic kind of thing but whatever. The game begins and pretty much straight away you get to select your first Pokemon. You can choose from Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle. There's all sorts of reasons to pick one over the other including elements, statistics and movesets but everyone just picks the one that is the cutest (or least ugly). I chose Bulbasaur. Probably a bad move on my part as he was never particularly useful. Not that it matters, this game is ridicuously easy, despite what my memories from when I was small tell me. You get your first taste of how easy the game is straight away as your rival (Green is is official name but it's more fun to call him things like Lisl or Sefie) wants to battle. Instead of easily destroying me with his Charmander's scratch attack he decides that using growl and not damaging me at all is the way to win. "IMA GONA BE DA BEST POKEMANZ TRAINA!" he says as he walks off. Whatever Green, you just got your intense fire-breathing dragon killed by a tiny animal with a bulb on its back. Face it, you suck just as much as every other trainer in this damn game. So you head out and catch lots of Pokemon (despite what your inner-child remembers, Pidgey sucks. Spearow is 451370 times better. And even then, Spearow's not exactly amazing) and battle lots of nerds who collect bugs. You get to Pewter City and are instructed to battle Brock. He uses lots of rock Pokemon, forunately for you the best move they learn is tackle. If you have a Squirtle on level 8 or a Bulbasaur on level 13 you can probably win this battle in 15 seconds (for real) otherwise it may take longer. Still not particularly hard though. The trainers coming up are the only peeps I struggled with in the whole game and that's only because my team consisted of a level 9 Bulbasaur, level 8 Pidgey, level 9 Spearow, level 7 Rattata, level 5 Weedle (don't use him ever) and level 12 Nidoran M. Eventually (after returning to the Pokemon Centre after every battle because that's all you have to do to get completely healed) I get to Mount Moon. Another place with lots of ridiculously easy trainers and super crappy Pokemon to catch (although I did snag a Clefairy which I actually found useful and ended it up using it for the remainder of the game). In Cerulean, I continued to fight more random trainers (I was shocked to realize that I still remember which Pokemon 95% of the trainers in this game use). Beat the shit out of Misty at the gym (I caught an Oddish above Cerulean on level 12 and it did the entire battle for me despite Misty having two pokemon on like level 19 and 21 or something) and continue along. Continue your journey, fighting dumb trainers, catching ugly monsters and collecting ridiculously-easy-to-get gym badges. Although despite all of the badness, I found myself loving every moment of the game. Eventually you'll get all 8 badges and be on your way to the Indigo Plateau. Taking the time to obtain Zapdos and Articuno pretty much guarantees you a win. I couldn't be fucked and used the same old team I used pretty much the entire game. Still wasn't hard though. Before you get to the Indigo League, Green turns up and wants to battle. I thought I'd include how this battle when down just to prove how ridiculously easy this game is. Alright, it went like this -->
- Green sends out level 47 Pidgeot. Scott sends out level 36 Nidoking. Nidoking (God knows why he has more speed than a Pidgeot 11 levels higher than him) uses rock slide. Pidgeot uses agility. Pidgeot is now faster than Nidoking. Next turn. Pidgeot uses agility, again. Um... What? Nidoking uses rock slide. Turn 3. Pidgeot uses agility. Nidoking uses rock slide. Turn 4. Pidgeot uses AGILITY. Nidoking uses rock slide. Pidgeot faints.
- Green sends out level 45 Rhyhorn. Scott sends out level 39 Venusaur. 4x weakness to grass + razor leaf = Dead Rhyhorn.
- Green sends out level 45 Exeggcute. Scott sends out level 31 Flareon (which by the way, I evolved from and Eeevee at level 25, put it in the daycare until it learned ember and this was the first time it had been used since). Flareon uses ember. Exeggcute uses poison powder. Flareon uses ember. Exeggcute faints.
- Green sends out level 47 Gyarados. Scott sends out level 38 Clefable. 4x weakness to electric + thunderbolt = Dead Gyarados.
- Green sends out level 50 Alakazam. Scott sends out level 37 Pidgeot. Alakazam uses recover. I haven't hit you yet, dumbass. Pidgeot flies. Alakazam uses recover. STILL haven't hit you yet. Pidgeot uses fly. Alakazam uses psychic. Pidgeot flies. Alakazam uses psychic - misses. Pidgeot uses fly. Pidgeot uses quick attack. Alakazam faints.
- Green sends out level 53 (53!!!) Charizard. Scott sends out level 35 Gyarados. Charizard uses... LEER. Gyarados uses surf. Charizard uses leer. Gyarados uses Surf. Charizard faints.
And that's that. I mean, come on! His guys were like 10-20 level higher than mine and I still pawned him. He attacked me ONCE with Alakazam. Oh well, moving on. Victory Road is easy. The Elite Four :O:O:O YAY! We're here, at last. Here's how these battles played out.
- Lorelei's Dewgong, Cloyster, Lapras and Slowbro were all owned by electric attacks. Clefable fried those bastards. Jynx was the exception to the "SPAM THUNDERBOLT NAO" strategy. A good fire attack should have taken care of her but my level 31 Flareon got killed in one hit by her level 56 Jynx. So instead I just sent out all of my guys one after the other and spammed their best attacks.
- Bruno is laughably easy. TWO ONIX!? Seriously? 4x weak to water AND grass??? Flying rips his Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Machamp apart.
- Earthquake = Dead Agatha. Except for that fucking Golbat. Thunderbolt kills that, though.
- Lance has lots of evil dragons. Ice attacks FTW!!! Electric attacks on Gyarados, water attacks on Aerodactly. Also, does Hyper Beam not need to be recharged back in the RBY days???
- The battle with Green was pretty much exactly the same as the last 5 except he FINALLY evolved his Exeggcute. No problem here, I just matched types and killed everything. Although, his Exeggutor did kill my Flareon this time. Pidgeot was a fine replacement.
So then I got to watch the Hall of Fame, which I LOVE! I always have loved it always will. And then the game was over. Yaaaaaaaay! I could've gone and caught Mewtwo if I wanted but meh. Playing through Red Version was fun for nostalgia purposes but with FireRed and LeafGreen in my posession I really have no reason to ever play this game.

True Blood Season 1 A
Okay, so made a brief comment about this show earlier. I pretty much just said it was awesome. Which it is. In this part I'll give more deets about how/why it is so awesome.
The show is set in a parallel world to ours where humans and vampires live together. Vampires drink 'Tru Blood' instead of real human blood. However, some humans consent to letting vampires feed off of them in exchange for money, sex or even for the vampire's blood (which acts as some sort of hallucinogenic drug, dubbed 'V'). The thing I always think when watching this show is "Who could've thought that a show based around vampires and such could be so real?". True Blood really succeeds in taking fatasy/science-fiction/whatever elements and using them in a realistic fashion to create characters, ideas, themes and symbols. The show uses a lot of vampire-related topics as metaphors to real-world topics like drug-abuse and racism (or the more current form of prejudice, homophobia). It also has wonderfully real characters where none of them are really good or bad, they're all just human. This is something I love and it isn't something that occurs very frequently. Brothers and Sisters is another show that comes to mind that pulls this off. The lead characters are both great and have a fantastic relationship. When I say "lead characters" I am referring to Sookie and Tara, not Sookie and Bill. Sookie and Tara are fantastic. Sookie and Bill, not so much. Sookie and Tara's relationship is close to rivalling that of Meredith and Cristina from Grey's Anatomy. Actually, that's a lie. It's not close, but it's still pretty damn good. Unfortunately Sookie and Bill suffer from the annoying cliche that I didn't like the first time and don't like anymore the twelfth time. Sookie is all blonde and naive and absolutely blinded by love to see that Bill is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE for her. And Bill is dark and dangerous and absolutely blinded by love to see that Sookie is WAY TOO GOOD for him. There are a lot of main characters in the show, but the other most important ones would probably be Jason and Sam. Jason only really does two things in this show: sex and drugs. He's a complete jerk and a total moron but he's loveable. Sam is sort of like poor man's Bill. He has all the same shit going on with him, just not as much. This is why Sookie chooses Bill over Sam. This, and Bill likes to bite her during sex and Sookie loves her some kinky violent sex. Another interesting is Lafiet (not sure on the spelling for this one). He's the drug-dealer, who is awesome and badass. He also seems to be wise and has good advise to give to Sookie and his cousin, Tara. Strangely enough my two favourite characters would probably be the red-haired woman at the bar and her husband, Rene. These two don't really get their own storylines and their role in the show is simply the innocent humans who witness everything that everyone else is doing. Although the lost two eppies weren't quite as good as all the previos ones, they were still worth watching and I really think this show has potential. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Moar Bullet Points
- I'm sick. A cold or the flu or something. Whatever it is, I don't like it.
- I like Ms Meredith. She's hot. And I don't mean that sexually.
- Probably going to Victoria University. We'll see though.
- Played Pokemon Red again. It was fun, although a lot easier than I remember.
- Simon = Homophobic? Here's a quote from him from a couple of weeks ago; "Not to be prejudice against gays or anything but I really hope he [referring to Tamati Coffey from Dancing with the Stars] isn't gay." <-- Sorry Simon, I can't think of any way that that isn't prejudice against gays.
- Jack's fashion of not tucking his shirt in FTL.
- Brothers and Sisters = bleh. Seriously, where's the B&S charm I loved so much? And does Jed watch this? Or did he just randomly give an opinon on it today?
- I recently realized that my opinions on homosexual marriage and polygamous marriage contradict each other. Which, I suppose means I have to change the way I think about one or other. I'm still trying to decide which one, though.
- Everytime I plan Fairy Lights it gets even more unnecessarily weird. I really should attempt to write it but I already know that it is going to end up as a messy something of ideas.
- Aw shit! What am I gonna do when Melissa leaves???
- OMG, my mum said this weirdest thing yesterday. I went into her room and we were talking and then I was like "Where's Jon?" and she goes, "He's in the bathroom. I think he's nursing little bird." <--- WHAT!??!?!?!?!?!?? Mum! Don't say such things... Turns out he brought a sick bird back from work and was looking after it. Oh, okay.
- Lol @ Michael Bellingham. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with this lad?
- Lol @ Geethika. The poor lass doesn't understand anything.
- Speaking of Geethie, I had the awkwardest walk home from school today. I wanted to leave straight away because I was sick and because we go the same way, Patricia and Geethika decided it'd be awesome if the 3 of us walked home together. This was my face --> :O. So I walked with them and then as soon as I had the opportunity to go another route, I did. That's not all, it gets worse. Much worse. Josh Krijen passes me on the way. Shit. So after walking behind him for a bit, he turns around and points at me. Shit! He walks over to me - SHIT! - and decides to walk with me. WHAT THE FUCKING HELL??? Awkwardest. Conversation. Ever.
- The other day I plucked my eyebrows, and cut my nails, and washed my hair, and waxed my legs. That was a good day.
- Can't wait for Adele to wear her other kilt. It'll be lulz.
- Alright, dinner is ready, so I'm gonna stop with the unnecessary bullet points nao. Bye.

Blogging out of boredom
- School is so average right now. Like, the most average thing ever. Not that one thing can be more average than another but whatevs.
- Lunch time and interval are usually the most boring thing ever. However today was alright. Talking about video games with fellow nerds/geeks/whatever = win.
- Melanie's new haircut is really nice. Jack's hair was really cute today, too.
- Melissa <3.
- Grey's Anatomy has FINALLY picked up in the last two episodes. It's starting to get back to what it used to be like. Fortunately, it looks like all this ghost sex shit is going to go away.
- Brothers and Sisters is on tonight. Hopefully that can have a come-around as well because it has also been pretty meh lately.
- Survivor Micronesia: Fans VS Favourites is kicking ass. Parvati FTW!
- Survivor Tocantins is kicking ass. Erinn FTW!
- Currently playing; Final Fantasy IV (DS), Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS), Magical Starsign (DS), Pokemon Diamond (DS), Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift (DS), Final Fantasy VI (PS1), Final Fantasy VII (PS1) and Dark Chronicle (PS2).
- Family dinner yesterday. It was real boring but then again, they always are.
- MSN is broken. Again. I'm really sick of fixing that thing.
- Final Fantasy IX Play Arts toys are coming out :); Zidane, Dagger and Vivi. Hope they're good.
- Nathaniel wasn't at school today. I don't think he knew about the late start. Poor old guy.
- Jon from England makes lots of weird noises. I don't approve.
- My brother has decided to be nice and give me his iPod and his Final Fantasy VIII Advent Play Arts figures. Now all I need is that scarf.
- Omomom?

True Blood
This show is amazing. I wasn't expecting much. Just some silly Twilight-type thingie. I was shocked. This show is amazing. I'm completely spellbound (and so is my mother, which is rare). Who would have thought that a show about crazy vampire sex would be so real. The characters are real, the themes are real. This show is amazing. I love it.

My Holidays (Lots of gaming)
Dear Scott. I've finished 6 games so far this year. They are Eternal Sonata (Xbox 360), Star Ocean: The Second Story (PlayStation), Final Fantasy VI (PlayStation (Port)), Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PlayStation Portable), Dark Cloud (PlayStation 2) and Final Fantasy VII (PlayStation). I'm going to tell you all about the game and how I felt about it.
Eternal Sonata
Yes, technically I did finish this game this year. During the first few minutes of the new year, that is. Eternal Sonata was a very nice game. It had: beautiful music, cute graphics, loveable characters, an interesting plot and a fun battle system. The game was based around Frederic Francais Chopin (or something like that anyway) who was a French pianist, Polka and Allegretto. Allegretto was the "figure-head" lead character, but that was likely just because he was a young boy wielding a sword which is pretty much standard. He was alright, but nothing special. Polka was a darling. She was fatally ill and her motive in the game was to spend the rest of her life helping others. She usesd a parasol in battle, as well as one of the two characters that can use magic (apparently all that other stuff that the characters do isn't magic. I'm pretty sure it was, though). She was a bit cliche, but she was just so damn cute that it didn't matter. Allegretto and Polka fell in love. And, well, it was done pretty poorly. It started off quite well, with Allegretto having a bit of a crush on the girl but then all of a sudden the two were inlove and it didn't feel quite right. The other characters were; Beat, Jazz, Viola, Falsetto, Claves, Salsa and March. Beat was a whiny little brat who pissed EVERYONE off. Jazz was awesome. He was the leader of a resistance army who had a giant sword. He was the old (27 is old for a JRPG, okay), quiet, strong type but he pulled off way better than others because of his extra coolness. Viola was a pair of breasts that was pretty good in battle with her bow and arrow but for the most part seemed pretty irrelevant. And was she inlove with Jazz? Falsetto was a dyke. Seriously, I spent the first part of the game wondering whether she was an effeminate man or a masculine woman. This made me hate her initially, but as the game went on I started to like her more. She owned battles with her unnarmed combat style. And was she inlove with Jazz? Claves was a pink-haired gal. I spent awhile deciding whether her naivity was cute or irritating. About the time I decided it was irritating, she became totally badass and I loved her. Then she died. She WAS inlove with Jazz. Seems like everyone had the hots for Jazzy-boy. Can't blame them. He was awesome. Salsa and March were twins. Salsa joined the party relatively early and was a nice addition both in battle and for the storyline. March joined much later and was probably the most irrelevant character ever. She pretty much just turned up with Salsa one time and goes "Hai guyz, how 'bout I tag along?". The game had a lot of trouble delivering its storyline. Which is a shame, because it was an interesting story. It just sort of decided to tell you random things at random times and give you all these questions and not answer any of them. But then, at the end, most of the questions were answered, but some plot holes remained. It did have a nice ending - very emotive. Although there was a random "SAVE THE WORLD NAO!" speech that sort of come out of nowhere and kind of ruined the mood. Another big mood-killer was the stupid history lessons that randomly came out of no where. I would've been all g with these if they weren't in the middle of all the good stuff. And you couldn't just skip them and watch them later (even if you did skip them, it skips all of the other scenes that come before and afterwards) you had to sit there and read about Chopin's life for awhile and then go back to the game. Seriously, WTF was that all about? The gameplay was not a WTF moment, however. The battles were brilliant. I had so much fun during them that I was never annoyed at getting them. The combat combined turn-based and real-time together to make really innovative battles. I don't even know what innovative means but it feels right. So on the whole, this was a really lovely game it just got hurt with some seriously shit story delivery.

Star Ocean: The Second Story
I've played this game a lot. I finished it twice (as Claude and as Rena) a few years back. And then last year I played through again as Claude, hoping to get enough voices to unlock the special stuffz. I didn't, so I played through as Rena to get some more. This game used to be a favourite of mine, but playing it through again with 15-16 years of wisdom, well... It didn't quite live up to how I thought it was. This game certainly had potential, it just fell through. Let's start at the start (duh). When you begin, you get the option of choosing whether to follow the game as Claude, or as Rena. Sounds nice, right? Well the two paths are pretty much exactly the same except for the very beginning and a few minor story events later. On top of that, both of the characters are so painfully annoying that it's more of a "Oh noes... Which one is less shit?" rather than a "Oh noes... They're both so awesome!". The answer to, "Which one is less shit?" is Claude. But that by no means, makes him good. Unfortunately it's hard to make up for these bad lead characters with the supporting characters because none of them are compulsory. That's right, Claude and Rena are the only characters that you MUST get it, and therefore are the only characters that are integral to the main plot. There are 10 optional characters to get, however you can only recruit 6 people in each game (plus Claude and Rena) and while some of the optional characters are interesting (Celine, Leon, Opera, Bowman, Ashton) and some are not (Dias, Precis, Noel, Chisato, Ernest) none of them get enough screen time to actually develop much, if at all. The story itself, is pretty bad. It goes like this --> Claude is investigating space and he is accidentally transported to Expel where he meets Rena. Expel is in danger due to the mysterious Sorcery Globe. Claude agrees to investigate with Rena. Rena has a pretty pendant that was given to her by her biological mother who she wants to meet (OMG, original!). Turns out Rena isn't Expelian either, but instead she was transported there from Nede, 100,000,000 (ish) years ago. If you do the math, that means Rena's biological mother is dead. Poor lass (not). Expel is destroyed and you go to Nede. Nede is in danger due to the myserious Ten Wise Men. Claude agrees to investigate with Rena. Claude's dad is killed and Claude is sad for about 2 seconds but then decides that character development is for noobz and gets over it. Claude and Rena get super strong and have super hot sex on a beach and beat up the Ten Wise Men. Then the creators got all lame and brought Expel back for no real reason. Then we get treated to a bunch of "endings" depending on the characters you recruited and their affection towards each other (I remember in my Rena game a few years ago, I got her to turn lesbian for the babilicous three-eyed, gun-wielding Opera. This time she just made babies with Claude) and then it ends. With no real conclusion and the only satisfaction you get is from pairing up all the hot guys with all the hot girls and laughing at all the people who ended up alone (Noel NEVER gets a partner. Instead he screws little animals). The battle system should've been awesome too. It was random encounters, yet the battles were free-roam. However all fun of chasing and slashing the enemy was removed as if you press the X button, Claude (or whoever you're controlling) will automatically run over to an enemy and hit them. So, really, it wasn't free-roam. Also WTF was up with the magic-based characters? Celine and Leon were two of the five mildly interesting characters in the game. They had these super intense spell animations, unfortunately they stopped the action, took about 5 minutes each, and did damage which Claude and the other fighters can do in about 3 seconds. Star Ocean: The Secondary Story is a game that should've been good but just failed. Oh well, Star Ocean: The Last Hope will be out in New Zealand soon. I can see if that is any better. Although it will probably be outshadowed by the next installment in the much better series, Tales of Vesperia.

Final Fantasy VI
This game is a favourite of mine. Awesome plot, great characters with excellent development, amazing music, good battles. The storyline is about the Returners who are a resistance group that are trying to stop the Empire from using the power of Espers to take over/destroy the world. Sounds pretty typical, right? Well about half way through the game, BANG, the world actually IS destroyed, and you lose all but one of your characters. So instead of trying to stop the world from ending, in the second part of the game is about getting all your characters back and beating Kefka (crazy clown dude who destroyed the world) so that you restore the world. FFVI features an ensemble cast with no absolute lead character which is strange for a Final Fantasy. However, if you had to pick one, Terra is the leading lady. Yes, that's right, a FEMALE main character. During the very first stage of the game, Terra is a slave for the Empire, she breaks out of their control however and joins the returners. She is a product of a human and an Esper meaning she has natural magical powers. Terra is pretty lame at the start, she whines a lot and isn't as decisive as a leader should be. However she quickly grows out of this and starts to fill her role much better. In the second part of the game, if you get her, she learns what love is, and becomes badass. Hot. The other main character is also a lady (What the Hell was going on with Square???); Celes. Despite Terra being pretty cool, she is totally outshadowed by Celes who is just pure awesome. She too, was with the Empire but she betrayed them and joined up with the returners. She was infused with magical goodness when she was young so she has magical powers too. This babe never left my team, because not only is she awesome, she kicks ass in battle. Celes is the first character you get in the second part of the game, and is the one who gets everything back together, she also opposes Kefka more so than Terra. All of this makes some people think that Celes is the real lead character but meh. Celes falls inlove with Locke, so you better fucking recruit him in the second half of the game or Celes is left all lonely and sad. Locke is a thief (or treasure hunter) he is part lead character, part love interest, part awesome. He actually fits the role of typical FF lead quite well, maybe even better than the ladies. But he's not. He's really just there as a BFFL for Terra and super smexy sex appeal for Celes. This is another guy who never left my party, mostly because he's awesome but also because he can be made pretty good battle. But then, pretty much everyone in the game can be be made pretty good in battle. This game is a game that manages to make almost all of their characters loveable, and gives them large amounts of character development. The other characters in this game are Edgar, Setzer, Sabin, Cyan, Gau, Relm, Strago, Shadow, Mog, Gogo and Umaro. Although most of the focus is on Terra, Celes and Locke, they all get a turn to shine (with the exception of those last three). I don't dislike any of the characters but my favourites amongst the cast would be the Terra, Celes, Locke, the Figaro brothers (Edgar and Sabin) and Setzer. The esper system, while not as good as FFVII's materia system, FFVIII's junction system or FFX's sphere grid system. It probably would have been better if 50% of the spells weren't totally irrelevant. The battles were fun but because all the characters were sooooo good it made every boss incredibly easy. Especially later when you just get 4 people to sit in the back row and throw lots of Ultimas at the enemy (Terra/Celes + Gem Box + Quick + Ultima = Win). This is a fantastic game and definately one of the best in the Final Fantasy series.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
I was pretty uncertain about this game. I really only played it because of the FFVII fanboy in me (which isn't that big, but it was enough). I wasn't expecting much considering it was a prequel to a pretty WTF game that was based around a character that was in the original for all of 12 seconds (for real). I was pleasantly surprised. When I first started the game, I was enjoying it. The graphics are like fucking PS2 graphics on the PSP so... Wow. A lot of FFVII's music returned but was like 1000 times better. Zack was likeable and surprisingly different from Cloud. The battles were not turn-based, and took advantage of the old materia system and including something new called the DMW. This made the battles, overall, pretty good (barring that stupid voice that goes "initiating combat mode", "conflict resolved" and "modulating phase") While the secondary main characters were pretty meh (Angeal was pretty cool but sort of dull. Genesis was like almost as womany as Kuja from FFIX and I've never been a Sephiroth fan) it was the tertiary main characters that were really great. Cloud and Aerith returned (except not considering this was set beforehand) from FFVII and were great. They were both loveable and the way the Cloud/Zack and Aerith/Zack relationships were done was top-notch. Cissnei was the other main character and she was just like walking hawtness and was fucking cool. Although she was shit-useless at fighting. Her relationship with Zack was also very well done. So about half-way through the game when there was less focus on all Angeal, Sephiroth and Genesis and more focus on the younger, hotter fellows, the game really picked up. It got really intense and the last few chapters (although really random) were so hard to stop playing. When the game really decided to be amazing was the very end. After defeating Genisis; Zack and Cloud are confronted by SOLDIER infantrymen. Cloud being infected with Mako poisoning, Zack fights them alone. You are forced into a battle (in which you cannot die, I believe), some super hot shit music plays and you kick the crap out of a bunch of infantrymen (spamming quake FTW). Then you get your "modulating phase" thingie and you get flashes of Sephiroth, Tseng and Cissnei and then they disappear off of your DMW. You fight some more until you get another "modulating phase" thingie, where you get flashes of Angeal and Cloud and then they disappear off of your DMW. This is when you start getting really sad. Because you KNOW that Zack is going to die, but you refuse to let it happen. There's no way you're going to be responsible for this (fictional) guy you've grown to love's death. You're getting the shit kicked out of you and then the "modulating phase" thingie goes again. Aerith is all awesome and you're praying to God that Healing Wave is activated and Zack is saved. Nope, Aerith disappears off of the DMW. As Zack dies, he has a little talk with Cloud but nobody remembers what he is saying because they're so upset. Some happy music plays while Cloud remembers Zack and then Aerith shows us her tits. Beautiful. Amazing ending. Wait, what? It's not over? Zack wakes up and goes "Those Wings. I want them too" and flies off into Heaven with Angeal. Umm... What? Seriously, that ruined the perfection of the ending. After the creddies we see a redone version of FFVII's opening scene. We see Cloud and are unsure if we are happy or not as we go "OMG" as we realize there is going to be a crappy sequel. Then you realize that actually, there already IS a crappy sequel. That's right, instead of being a crappy prequel, Crisis Core was so moving and awesome that it made the real game, FFVII look like a crappy sequel. Wow.

Dark Cloud
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I finished this game. FINALLY. This was the first game I got for the PS2 (about 7 years ago) and I have never completed it until now. I started a new game of this about a year ago after playing My Life as a King (Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles) and slowly made my way till the end. Why did it take me so long? Because it had lots of awesome sidequests and other good shit to do? No. Because it was really tedious and boring? YES! I don't even know where to start. Okay, I'll start where any good RPG should: with the plot. Wait, there was a plot to this game? Yes, there was. Remember when they randomly gave you some boring-ass stories about some magical genies and slutty princes and princesses? THAT was the story. The story in this game was a total joke. It was hardly there for the most part and when it was it was laughable and unengaging (with the exception of the La Saia story-arc which was pretty good). Main character? Toan, a young boy with a hat, a poncho and an annoying girly voice. Fortunately you hardly ever had to hear it because he was a silent protaganist and there was no voice acting except for the sound the characters make when they attack. Despite being the first character you get, Toan will probably be used only to collect the atlamillia for the most part. Why? Because Toan is a melee character. And in Dark Cloud, melee characters suck. Ranged character are better in nearly every way (infact, one of them IS better than them in every way). So when do we get a ranged character? Pretty soon into the first dungeon (which is the most annoying and tedious thing EVER until you rebuild the shop) you get Xiao. Xiao is your pet cat. You use a magical potion on her and turn her into a... Cat-GIRL! Yay! Xiao uses a slingshot which means she can stand back and hit monsters and shouldn't take any damage at all. PLUS she loses her weapon HP (more on that later) much slower than Toan. Of course, her initial weapon sucks so you're best running around as Toan until you get another one for her in which you should ditch Toan forevs. Oh yeah, Xiao will never ever say anything or do absoltely anything that will affect the plot. Ever. Awesome... After rebuilding Norune village (which I admit, is a hoot) you go to another empty village with another dungeon and you get to do the exact same thing all over again. That's alright, with the exception of the initial awful tediousnessm it was pretty damn fun. You meet Goro who is a short chubby kid who likes to wack monsters very, very, VERY slowly with axes and hammers (and sometimes fish or turtles). Goro is absolutely useless. Buy lots of bombs and use them for Goro's limited zone. Then switch to Xiao and hope you find a good weapon for him before you have to use him again. It's probably about now that you'll begin to get annoyed at having to switch between your characters all the time (Toan 3-8 times every level to get atlamillia, Xiao ocassionally to jump over things and Goro ocassionally to press buttons) which is VERY annoying and it gets MUCH worse. Anyway, moving on, after completeing Matataki Village and Wise Owl Forest you'll get a pathetic attempt at some story stuff and then be sent to a new place to rebuild, Queens. Although you've already done it twice already, rebuilding Queens is super fun. However it is the last time it will be fun, as after the third time of doing something, people get bored. In Queens you meet your next ally, Ruby. Go get her 2 platinum rings, switch to her and NEVER EVER EVER use anybody else (unless you have to). Ruby is hands down the best character in the game. She is ranged, like Xiao, however she can also charge her attacks like Toan and Goro. This makes her absolutely amazing at both offence and defence. Plus, she's hawt (although it is a bit weird how her boobs jiggle ALL the time). Now for the rest of the game rush through the dungeons, blasting things with Ruby and ignoring your new characters (Ugaga and Osmond). The rest of the game is very boring and very tedious. Why? Well there's even MORE character swapping and lots of other small things that make you want to kill yourself. The game had an attempt as being realistic by making your weapons get damaged and broken and having your characters get thirsty. This, however, is just a pain. Your weapon lose HP quickly, sometimes up to 5 points every hit (with melee characters. Ranged characters will never lose more than one point every hit, with the exception of Ruby's charged attack). If you are so caught up in a combo that you don't have time to repair your weapon, it breaks and you lose it forever. This is VERY annoying (and one of the main reasons ranged characters are much more efficient) as you could lose a weapon you spent hours training and never get it back. The thirst meter, while not as annoying as the WHP thing, is still stupid. Your characters get thirsty as you run around and you have to give them water or they will lose HP. This is annoying (especially at the beginning when you have a small thirst meter) as you have to carry around lots of water with you. Basically this game could've been really good but ruinied itself with lots of unnecessary things. Most of the 30 hours I spent playing this game was just doing irritating tedious things for the 438457210384th time. Here, I'll give you a breakdown of everything you do in the game.
-60% Running (Just running, nothing else)
-10% Fighting
-10% Switching characters
-5% Georama
-5% Plot
Sound fun? You can try it yourself. Or you could just believe me and pass on this game. I'm playing the sequel, Dark Chronicle right now. I'm only 1 dungeon in and its already MUCH better.

Final Fantasy VII
Okay, so I haven't actually completed this playthrough of the game, but I've finished it before, so here I go. FFVII is probably the most popular JRPG ever, and possibly the most popular game ever. TBH, I'm not really sure why. Everybody wets themselves over the characters, the storyline, the music, the graphics (WTF???) and the materia system. But really, none of them were that good and the Final Fantasy series has done a lot better (VI, X). Let's start with the story. At the beginning, Cloud is a mercenary who is working with AVALANCHE (which includes Barret and Breasts) who are trying to save the world. Okay, you we can get on board with this, right? A little while in some more stuff is revealed about the Ancients and the Promised Land and about Cloud's dark past (everyone needs to have one of those). This gives us a second motive for the storyline which is good. You continue on, levelling up, gaining lots of (useless) materia, recruiting some (useless) characters and shit. Then everything is getting all hot and climactic at the end of Disk 1 and BAM! Aerith is killed by Sephiroth. Her theme song plays during the Jenova Life battle, which makes you want to cry but the robotic dialogue (no voice acting back in these days so it was just text boxes) and the ugly-ass graphics prevent you from doing so. Then, on Disk 2, the story takes a turn for the worse. Much worse. It is revealed that everything that you've been told so far is all lies and all of the awesome plot, motive and character development that ocurred didn't actually happen and actually happened with some other fellow named Zack. Um... Okay... What? Also, Tifa knew all along but though it would be lulz if she didn't tell anybody. The storyline never gets as horribly as awful as that again, but it never really picks up. Cloud was a pretty shitty lead character. No, not because he was all emo-like (because, despite what everyone seems to think, he wasn't), but because he was all cocky and arrogant at the beginning, then he was all mentally unstable and weird and then he was all comatose and then he was all lame and boring. Seriously, WTF was his character doing? Sephiroth wasn't absolutely terrible, but he certainly wasn't good. He was Cloud's BFF and then went all crazy and evil for no real reason and killed people and walked like a loser and wanted to hang out with his mum. Um... Okay. There is a lot of debate over who is a better character, Tifa or Aerith. Answer = Aerith. Tifa and Aerith are VERY similar, Tifz is just sort of a watered down version of Aerith. Aerith has everything Tifa does, but better (except for Tifa's massive boobies, of course). Barret was an angry, aggressive man who was secretly sensitive and kind. He had a gun for a hand. Meh, he never really interested me. Red XIII was a pretty cool character but he got no way near enough screen time to make him awesome. Yuffie and Cait Sith were like the worst characters ever. Hated them both. Vincent was lame and boring. Seriously, depressed mysterious weirdoes are NOT interesting. Have some real, deep characters, PLEASE. Cid was also a pretty 2-dimensional, shallow piece of shit. At least he said "shit" lots which is always entertaining. Okay, I'm trolling this game a LOT, which is unfair. It wasn't terrible, it was actually quite good. I just hate all the undeserved love it gets. The materia system was great, and the music was fantastic, the characters had their moments and Disk 1 (which is about half of the game) was really enjoyable. The materia system was a great way to customize your characters. However there were certainly some faults with it. First of all, it should have mattered if somebody had high magic power and somebody else did not. Seriously, Aerith (with the highest magic power in the game) should deal MUCH MORE damage than Barret (with the lowest magic power in the game) instead of doing like 5 (with Fire, Ice, Bolt) to 200 (with Fire 3, Ice 3, Bolt 3) more damage. Also, the stupid stats alterations (is that the right word?) were often annoying, and hardly ever beneficial. The materia system definately had a learning curve to it. I remember the first time I played my strategy was pretty much EQUIP LOTS OF AWESOME MAGIX AND GO CRAZY. However, in this latest playthrough I realize that there's not point in having all 3 characters with Fire, Ice, Lightning AND Earth magic and you can make the game much easier by just equipping lots of good defensive materia, a small amount of offensive materia and using mostly physical attacks (preferably with long-ranged characters, however the 3 of them (Barret, Vincent, Yuffie) are the less interesting characters so use cool people like Tifa and Red XIII instead). Final Fantasy VII is certainly not a bad game, it is just not an amazing game and does not deserve nearly as much love as it gets.
